Diamonds Mequfi Beach Resort
Mozambique is the new and exclusive destination for those who want to explore a still un-spoilt region, where nature in all its glory is the absolute protagonist: unexplored nature reserves, timeless archipelagos with their ever changing vistas and stretches of sand that slip gently beneath the warm waters of the Indian Ocean.

The city of Pemba, located in the north-east of Mozambique, features white sand beaches with dazzling blue, crystal clear waters comparable to those found in Zanzibar and the Maldives. There are about 3 – 4 flights a week from South Africa, Kenya and Tanzania, with a daily flight from Maputo City. Approximately one hour’s drive away from Pemba International Airport, lies one of the most beautiful luxury resorts that Mozambique has to offer – the 5-star Diamonds Mequfi Beach Resort.

It is the newest property of the luxury brand, Planhotel Hospitality Group and the only member of “Small Luxury Hotels of the World” in Mozambique. It combines privacy and relaxation with the opportunity to experience some of the most breathtaking adventures. Discover the secrets of the rich underwater marine life, coastal forests, coral reefs and sea turtles with a diving or snorkeling adventure in the company of an expert guide. Diamonds Mequfi also offers whale watching excursions in August and September. Experience true magic with these majestic, yet gentle giants as they swim along the coast.

Diamonds Mequfi Beach Resort has 50 bright, spacious rooms and suites, decorated in a contemporary style and equipped with all the comforts, including large private verandas offering stunning ocean views. The beauty of the location, quality of service and staff attention to clients’ needs, come together to ensure an unforgettable holiday for anyone who visits.

At the center of the Resort is a saltwater swimming pool with relaxing sun beds and a bar that remains open until late so that guests can enjoy sunsets and the cool African night. One of the most important aspects of Diamonds Mequfi is its cuisine, which is able to satisfy even the most discerning palates. Restaurant Assinatura serves a sumptuous American-style buffet breakfast with an “a la carte” menu offering international dishes and local specialties for lunch and dinner. At extra charge, the “Sea You” Restaurant, which opens only in the evenings, offers fresh fish in a refined setting with an exquisite sea food fusion menu. For those who prefer a snack or pizza, the “Brisa do Mar” is open all day from 10am to 6pm and serves meals by the pool. The “Bela Baia Bar”, located near the pool, serves all-inclusive drinks from 9am to midnight, with a variety of other premium and imported liquors available also.

The nearby, Gorongosa National Park offers spectacular scenes of the diverse eco-systems represented in the park: huge plains interrupted by patches of acacia trees, expanses of savanna, forests and seasonal water basins. The park’s thriving wildlife is rich and diverse; visitors commonly spot herds of elephants, buffalo, wildebeest, kudu, zebra, impala, giraffe, monkeys and baboons. Hippo and crocodiles can be seen on the shores of Lake Urema. The park is a haven for bird-watching enthusiasts.

Other activities on offer at the resort include kayaking, sailing, wind and kite surfing, horse riding, deep sea fishing, day trips on a dhow to Ibo Island, yoga lessons and even cooking classes among many others. Be sure not to miss the Mvua African Rain Spa, a little bit of paradise where you can enjoy being pampered with treatments made from natural ingredients such as plants, flowers, salt, grains, spices, wild honey and brown sugar. Spa treatments can also be enjoyed at the yoga center under the shade of the trees.
