Now that the euphoria over Robert Mugabe’s resignation has subsided: Let’s scrutinise and see what happened.
During the inflation crisis of 2008, ZANU-PF managed to hang on by its teeth. First, they printed and printed new money, until it was no longer possible. Then the army, who kept Bob in power, helped to put in place a unity government, after the general consensus was that the MDC won the election. The next election in 2013, after the MDC saved the economy, was rigged again and Zanu-PF took full control. For them, it was business as usual.
This time around Zimbabwe had no currency of its own, so ZANU-PF could not print money. So instead they stole all the United States dollars in the Reserve Bank. For almost two years people in Zimbabwe have only been able to work with virtual and plastic money. Swipe your card all you like, but don’t try and withdraw USD cash, even though traffic police working for Zanu-PF were asked to collect fines in cash only.
The economy has been deflating and there has been very little cash for imports.
ZANU-PF suddenly realised that within 6 months the people will starve to death. And since a hungry man is an angry man, they figured that there is bound to be a massive revolt if drastic measures are not taken. ZANU-PF realized that if the people rise up in early 2018, when elections are scheduled to be held, they will completely destroy the party. They would more than likely kill Robert Mugabe, including all the corrupt ministers and government officials within Zanu-PF and the army may be powerless to stop it.
So, ZANU-PF realised that they needed to make a plan to save all the corrupt government officials, ZANU-PF and Robert Mugabe himself.
It’s perhaps their finest trick in 37 years and it plays on the fact that people are fed up, and getting a little too smart. They needed a clever plan. But the plan needed to make sure that ZANU-PF, stolen fortunes, securing of leaders are all safe, as well as, and probably more importantly a plan that would bring foreign investment into the economy from the docile western countries.
Seems that the First Lady at the time, Robert Mugabe’s wife, Grace, gave them the gun they needed to execute the plan. The army was instructed to allow the people to protest and march, once off arrangement. Bob was “sacrificed”. He got amnesty, kept all his money and actually received a 10 million dollar payout, plus future salary and benefits. His birthday has become a public holiday, just like for Jesus.
Zanu-PF elite keep their jobs and positions, almost the same cabinet stay in place. Mnagagwa, who was Mugabe’s right hand man and executioner since Sitole founded ZANU-PF, is now in charge.
The new president Mnagagwa was not just actively involved in the mass murder of tens of thousands of Ndebele people, there is also footage of him referring to the Ndebele people as cockroaches that must be squashed.
When the new President said that the white farmers, who lost their farms, will be compensated, the west was won. As usual, they did not listen to what was not said. It’s important to realise that two out of three white farms were taken over by army officials, the very people who ensured the presidency. One in three farms belongs to top ZANU officials. The new president made it very clear that the land policy will stay in place. No white farmer will get his farm back. (ZIMBABWE WILL REMAIN HUNGRY)
The money for these farms will come from foreign donors, and this way ZANU-PF and the ARMY will legitimise their theft of the farms for ever with western money.
There is no chance for a Government of National Unity, if ZANU-PF allows for that, it will be the end. A government of national unity will ensure free and fair elections, the last thing ZANU-PF want, because they know they are hated. They will rig the 2018 election, that’s why there is no Government of National Unity.
Finally, if Mnagagwa was really a new future, he would not have lied about his involvement in the Matabeleland slaughter. This is a matter of new toothpaste same toothbrush. Nothing in Zim will change. The only “pleasure” we will be awarded is the fact that Bob is not officially in charge.
