Toll rates on National Road Four (EN4) between Maputo and the border at Ressano Garcia will rise from December 1st.

The adjustment will only cover Class 1 vehicles – motorcycles and light vehicles, and Class 2 – medium-load trucks with no more than two axles.

Class 1 vehicles will pay 35 meticais against the current 30 meticais at the Maputo toll. In Moamba, the tariff goes from 150 to 190 meticais.

The average-weight vehicle tariff rises from 100 to 120 meticais in Maputo, while in Moamba they will be charged 480 meticais, up from 380.

The intervention from the Foreign Business Chamber in Mozambique on behalf of transporters from South Africa was instrumental that Class 3 and 4 vehicles will continue to pay 350 and 500 meticais at Maputo and 1,100 and 1,500 meticais in Moamba. No increase will take place, to ensure the route stay a profitable route.

The subsidised tariff for semi-public passenger transport vehicles will not be changed and will remain at the levels set in 2013.
